Sailing the Seven "C"s

Abstract:

As students develop a true understanding of subjects, they explore the Seven 'C's of Content, Context, Concept, Causality, Connection, Communication, and Creativity. This presentation (or half-day workshop) explores what is needed to sail on these seas, the makeup and nature of the crew, and builds a solid connection to educational technologies geared to each of these 'C's so educators can create environments that support mastery in any subject area.

Topics covered include:

•          Connections between the seven 'C's and true understanding
•          The educators role in helping students navigate in new territories
•          Specific technologies that address each one of the different 'C's
•          Connections between the seven 'C's, content and technology standards, and student mastery
•          Research-based pedagogical models that ease the path to understanding for all

In the half-day workshop, participants gain hand’s-on experience with tools associated with each “C”.
