Tell Me Why:
The Role of Technology in Helping Students Ask Interesting Questions

Abstract:

Picasso once said, "Computers are useless; they give answers, never questions." In fact, the key for student understanding of virtually any subject is their ability to ask (and the find answers for) compelling questions.  This presentation explores the qualities of good student questions and demonstrates some technology-based tools designed to enhance this ability in any subject area at virtually any grade.  This presentation is based on the presenter's research in this area based on the national standards for virtually all academic subject areas, K-12.
